Thank you for visiting our web site to learn a bit about Cornerstone Church in Sarnia-Lambton.  Our worship services location is within the Sarnia Christian School building at the corner of Exmouth Street & Pontiac Drive (1273 Exmouth Street).  Being at this location has many advantages such as providing the Church access to a gymnasium, multi-purpose space, commercial kitchen, meeting rooms as well as these outdoor amenities:  pavilion, basketball nets, play equipment, and swings.

To Cornerstone Church via a Personal Vehicle

If you travel to Cornerstone in a vehicle, access to the front and back parking lots is off of Pontiac Drive.  When you arrive, if there are no parking spaces remaining in the front lot, drive past the open yellow-coloured gates to get to the back parking lot.

To Cornerstone Church via City Bus

You can also get to Cornerstone Church via Sarnia Transit's "Retail Connector" Route 19.  There is a yellow bus stop sign on Pontiac Drive adjacent to the play equipment.

To Cornerstone Church via Biking

For those who choose to bike to Cornerstone Church, the east side of the Sarnia Christian School property is right beside the Howard Watson Nature Trail.

When we gather as a church family whether for worship, prayer, bible study, outreach and/or social events, it's to provide us with opportunities to know Jesus more.  In other words, our desire is to grow in our friendship with Jesus and to become mature disciples of His so others will come to know Him too!!

WHAT'S HAPPENING!!

So, what are some of the 'happenings' at Cornerstone Church to help us fulfill our purpose of knowing JESUS?

WORSHIP SERVICES on Sunday mornings (8:15am & 10:00am) plus on special occasions such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve.  There is also a live-stream of the 10:00am Sunday services via ZOOM as well as most of the 'special occasion' worship services.

PRAYER is so important among the Cornerstone Church parishioners, that it is not only an essential part of all worship services, but at other times as well.  Prayers are offered to the Lord via the parish 'prayer chain', LIFE group gatherings, the Jericho Prayer Walk, and at meetings, bible studies, home-based groups, in coffee shops throughout the community, and online.

BIBLE STUDIES and other learning opportunities are provided throughout the week in various locations.  Why bible study?  To come to know God and His Word (the Bible) more, to find out how to become a follower of Jesus, to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to become mature disciples of the Lord Jesus, to gain discernment and wisdom for life's challenges, and for instruction related to worship, prayer, service, being Christ's witnesses, the proclamation of the gospel, and so much more.

ADVANCED LEARNING at Cornerstone Church also takes place via Diocesan Lay Reader Certification, online courses offered by bible colleges/seminaries such as Packer College (St. John's, NL) or Wycliffe College (Toronto, ON),  Precept Ministries bible studies, being enrolled as a student to earn a theological diploma or degree, becoming a released Prayer Minister within an organization known as Victorious Ministry Through Christ (Canada), learning biblical Hebrew or Greek, pastoral care training, discipleship modules with organizations such as Sonlife Ministries and Trans World Radio (TWR), and fulfilling the requirements to acquire Certificates of Completion through the Blue Letter Bible Institute.

SERVING Jesus can happen in so many different ways:  ministry within Cornerstone Church, volunteering in the Sarnia-Lambton community, spending time with someone who is hurting, offering prayers to the Lord, providing a person in need even a 'cup of cold water', sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others, words of encouragement, and as a missionary for Jesus at work, school, among family and in Christian organizations.  There are some Cornerstone members who serve Jesus within these international mission organizations:  Pioneers Canada, Pioneers Bible Translators of Canada, Trans World Radio (TWR), and Victorious Ministry Through Christ (International).

SOCIAL EVENTS & FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES are provided to build connection, support networks, and friendships among parishioners.  What are some of the ways we do this?  Games & Karaoke Events, Christian Movie Nights, campfires, Sunday Lunch Group, Men's Fellowship Group, New Year's Day open house, meals at parishioner homes, and meeting somewhere for a 'coffee & chat'.
